This utility allows you to uninstall all Final Cut Studio components with the press of a button. Apple does not offer an uninstaller, making removing or downgrading to an earlier version very difficult. Simply deleting the Final Cut Studio application icons does not remove the suite, nor does it make it possible to reinstall it again. FCS Remover allows you to quickly and easily uninstall Final Cut Studio either permanently or in order to reinstall an earlier version over the top.

Please note that the software allows you to specifically select which components you wish to remove.

It also removes preference files, installer receipts, documentation, codecs, frameworks and content folders (LiveFonts, sound effects, templates, etc).

What it doesn't remove

• Your projects, render files, captured footage
• Third-party plugins (except the Boris plugins that ship with FCS)

Please note that some files may not be removable from your system.

FAQ

• Which versions of Final Cut Studio does it support?
  It has been designed for Final Cut Studio 2 but it is backwards compatible with Final Cut Studio 1. It has been reported to work on earlier versions such as Final Cut Pro 4.5 but these are not tested or supported.
• Does it also work for Final Cut Express?
  Yes, it supports versions 3.5 (HD) and 4.
• What are the system requirements for the application?
  It is compatible with both Mac OS X 10.4 Tiger and 10.5 Leopard. It has not been tested on earlier versions.
• What if I have other pro apps such as Logic or Shake installed on my system?
  Choose the Maximum Compatibility option, as this will leave behind frameworks shared by other applications.
• Do I lose my Final Cut Server database?
  You can choose to keep it if you wish by deselecting Database under the Final Cut Server heading.
