Pro Media Tools 2.2 is now out, with some great new features.
Video Check can now flag up files that have completely blank audio channels. Additionally, there has been an overhaul of how audio errors are treated within the app. The app now breaks down issues by track and channel to make it easier to pinpoint the exact location of the problem. This means that an issue that spans all channels will now show an error for each channel.

Earlier this week we released Post Haste 2.8 for Mac and Post Haste 2.4 for Windows, a major update for our free project management tool.
The biggest change in this release is the ability to add prefixes and suffixes to parameter values. This adds extra text to the front or end of the parameter's value, for example adding the word "client_" before the client name parameter value.
(Note that if the parameter's value is blank, prefixes and suffixes are not applied and the parameter will remain blank.)
We've also fixed bugs, improved performance and updated the project file presets and templates to use the latest versions of Adobe's tools.

Pro Media Tools 2.1 is an important new update to our suite of media management tools.
The suite natively supports Apple Silicon processors and works well on macOS 11 Big Sur.
Our camera offloading tool, Auto Transfer, has had a UI refresh with new icons that look better on Retina displays, as well as a lot of small tweaks to improve the intuitiveness and usability of the software.
Edit Detector can now export each shot to a separate QuickTime reference movie, meaning that you can have applications see each shot as a separate file without taking up a lot of disk space.
QT Edit received a lot of bug fixes and polish in this release, particularly around metadata handling.
We also added a new "Use gamma value" option when specifying a Color attribute manually, which takes the transfer function directly from the Gamma attribute. In other words, if someone asks you for a movie tagged with 1-2-1 color, this is how to achieve that.
Video Check can now open audio-only files and check them for peaks (previously only video files could be opened).

We recently released a major new update to Pro Media Tools, our suite of media management tools for video professionals.
The main change in this version is long-awaited compatibility with macOS 10.15 for all apps in the suite, with the exception of QT Edit, where a Catalina-compatible version is still in development and will be released in a future update.
Additionally, as previously announced, Gamma Shift Detector has been removed from the suite, but can be downloaded free of charge here.
Some apps required few or no changes in order to be Catalina compatible, but the two apps that required the most work were Edit Detector and Video Check. The QuickTime foundations of these apps were stripped out and replaced with AV Foundation equivalents, resulting in faster processing speeds as well as the aforementioned compatibility.
The apps in the suite now support Dark Mode on macOS 10.14 and higher.
Additionally, we managed to optimize and improve Edit Detector’s detection accuracy as a nice side-effect of the rewriting work we did.

Pro Media Tools 1.8 is a major update to our suite of media management tools. Here's what's new.
Auto Transfer has always checksummed your files when copying them, but it now has a tool to manually verify checksums. It's very flexible - drag in multiple drives, folders or files and it will generate checksums and compare them all.
This is helpful for verifying data integrity between two sources that Auto Transfer didn't copy, or were copied a long time ago.
QT Edit has undergone several changes to improve frame rate conforming. Most of these are under the hood changes but there is one user-facing addition.
We've added a new checkbox to the Conform pane to disable frame rate inversion. Like the other options on that pane, most people should not need to check it, but this option can help when converting from a non-integer frame rate (e.g. 23.976) to an integer frame rate (e.g. 25). You should only use this option if you get incorrect results with it switched off.

We recently released a minor update to our suite of media management tools. Here's what's new in Pro Media Tools 1.7.3:
We've added Quick Tasks in QT Edit for the following actions:
These tasks can be run in single-file or batch modes.
Additionally, while you won't be able to see the difference by looking, we've completely overhauled Quick Tasks under the hood to make it more efficient and to make it easier for us to deliver more Quick Tasks in future.
We've improved how Auto Transfer handles situations where volumes are offline. It now informs you which volumes are offline when you click the Transfer button, instead of the transfer just failing.
You can also now switch off transfer logging in preferences.

Pro Media Tools 1.7.2 adds useful new features to our suite of media management tools for video professionals.
Auto Transfer, our camera memory card offloading tool, now includes a transfer log. This is a text file that shows you checksums and metadata for each file that was copied. Logs are stored on a per-project basis and you can view the log by going to View > Transfer Log.
Video Check, our QC-checking tool, now allows you to export a still image of the currently selected frame, which is useful when you need to show someone a visual flaw in the video.

We recently released Pro Media Tools 1.7, a major update to our suite of media management and processing tools.
Timeline Tricks can now strip audio and/or video transitions from FCP 7 XML files, which can be useful before outputting an OMF or AAF for sound mixing.
Edit Detector and Video Check can now export marker EDLs to DaVinci Resolve.
To import the EDLs into Resolve, right-click the timeline in the Media or Edit window, then go to Timelines > Import > Markers from EDL.
You can now easily clear the file list in Batch Renamer by clicking the Clear button and can set this to occur automatically after processing in Preferences.

If you're using Post Haste to create templates for your Adobe project files, you may have run into an issue where the project file still points to assets in their original location on disk, not relative to the template path.
Here's how to get relative paths working:

Last week we released Pro Media Tools 1.6.1, a minor update to our suite of media management tools for video professionals.
Our camera offloading tool Auto Transfer now has a new metadata type - List. This allows you to specify a series of items, separated by commas, and force the user to choose one of these without being able to enter custom values. I use this in my workflows to send video and audio to different folders.
Additionally in Auto Transfer, you can now choose in preferences whether to include the camera ID in auto-detected reels (e.g. A011) or just have it be a numeric value (e.g. 011).
We've also added support for detecting volumes from DJI drones.
By default our QuickTime metadata editing tool QT Edit uses times in your local timezone. This is appropriate for most workflows, especially when adding timecode tracks from the creation time of the file, but some users have requested support for UTC timezone instead, irrespective of the local timezone. You can now force UTC in preferences.
